Worley, 1LT Luther A.

Luther Worley served in the U.S. Army Air Forces as a First Lieutenant with the 434th Bomber Squadron, 12th Bomber Group, Medium, 9th Air Force during World War II. A copilot, on July 27, 1943, he took off from the Comiso Airdrome in Hergla on a combat mission to Sicily. After enemy engagement, his aircraft crashed in the Middle East. He was declared dead on July 5, 1944. He is memorialized on the Tablets of the Missing at North Africa American Cemetery, Carthage, Tunisia.
