Robert Heuer served in the U.S. Army Infantry as a Sergeant in the 382nd Regiment, 96th Division during World War II. He died in action on Okinawa, Japan on April 20, 1945. He received the Silver Star, the Combat Infantryman Badge, and the Purple Heart.
