Mr. Stanley H. Smith served in the U.S. Navy as a Yeoman Second Class with the U.S.S. Wilkes during World War I. He died on September 13, 1917, when he was lost overboard in foreign waters. He is memorialized on the Tablets of the Missing at Suresnes American Cemetery, Suresnes, France.
