Johnson, LT Wallace Richard

Wallace Johnson served in the U.S. Army Air Forces as a Second Lieutenant in the 372nd Bomber Squadron, 307th Bomb Group, Heavy, during World War II. He went missing in action on December 28, 1942 when the aircraft he was on was forced to make a sea landing approximately 200 miles from Midway Island. He was on a reconnaissance and photographic mission over Wake Island. He was awarded the Air Medal and the Purple Heart. He is memorialized on the Tablets of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial, Honolulu, Hawaii.
