Fulton Moore III served in the U.S. Army as a First Lieutenant with C Company, 3rd Battalion, 21st Infantry, 196th Light Infantry Brigade during the Vietnam War. A Unit Commander, he was killed in action in the coastal plains south of Da Nang, Vietnam on March 9, 1969. He had been stationed in Vietnam since December, 1968. He was awarded the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart.
