Don Claypool served in the U.S. Naval Reserve. A veteran of World War II he served aboard the USS Enterprise in May, 1945. He served as a Captain, Mobile Construction in the 10th Battalion in the Vietnam War. He died suddenly on June 23, 1967 in Washington.
