Dana P. Todd served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Private First Class with the 3rd Battalion, 4th Marines during World War II. He was captured by the Japanese after the fall of Corregidor, Philippine Islands, on May 6, 1942, and was held as a prisoner of war until his death while still in captivity on December 17, 1942, in Osaka Camp, Tokyo, Japan.
