Harold S. Tiller served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Second Lieutenant with the 554th Squadron, 386th Bomb Group, 9th Air Force during World War II. The bombardier of B-26B-15 Marauder (#41-31771), he died on February 16, 1945 when his plane was hit by flak and caught fire while on a bombing run on the Unna ordnance depot located east of Dortmund, Germany, and crashed near Coesfeld, Germany.
