William Neuman served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Second Lieutenant with the 577th Bomb Squadron, 392th Bomb Group during World War II. A Bombardier, his B-24 Liberator (#42-51207) was shot down somewhere over Germany on December 2, 1944. Apparently, he parachuted out and he died on landing or shortly afterwards. He was awarded the Air Medal with Oak Leaf Clusters and Purple Heart.
