Jay M. Sink Jr. served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a First Lieutenant and Navigator with the 573rd Squadron, 9th Air Force during World War II. He was killed on September 24, 1944, when his Martin Marauder B26 aircraft (#42-96102) crashed during inclement weather in Ashingdon, England, while returning to the base camp at Essex, England.
