Schaffle, 1LT Albert Cacin

Albert C. Schaffle served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a First Lieutenant with the 19th Fighter Squadron, 318th Fighter Group during World War II. He went missing on July 2, 1944, when he was observed bailed out of his damaged plane over Rota Island, Marianas, before the conquest of Saipan. He was declared dead in 1946. He is memorialized in the Courts of the Missing at the Honolulu Memorial, Hawaii. He was awarded the Air Medal and Purple Heart.
