Conklin, PFC William Wesley

William Conklin served in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class in the Medical Corps 381st Infantry, 96th Infantry Division during World War II. He was wounded from shrapnel on his 21st birthday, Easter Sunday, April 1, 1945 on Leyte in the Philippines. He died April 12, 1945 from those wounds at the 31st Field Hospital, Okinawa, Philippines. He was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medals.
