Harry Akers served in the U.S. Army Air Forces as a Staff Sergeant Radio Gunner. He was killed in bomber crash in Marrakesh, French Morocco on March 15, 1944. The War Department notified Mrs. Akers of the death of her husband in a plane crash somewhere over North Africa.
