Vernon T. White Jr. served in the U.S. Air Force as a First Lieutenant with the 7th Operations Squadron. The co-pilot of U.S.AF C-113 transport (#49-195A) based at Carswell Air Force Base, Fort Worth, Texas, he died on March 27, 1958, in a mid-air collision with a C-124 Globemaster II transport (#52-981A) over Bridgeport, Texas.
