Charles Eaton served in the U.S. Army, as a First Lieutenant in the Infantry, 3rd U.S. Army in World War II. He died on April 18, 1945 from wounds suffered two days earlier in the European Theater in action against the Germans. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and the Purple Heart.
