Vivian McWhorter, Jr. served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a First Lieutenant with the 457th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force during World War II. A Bombardier, he was killed in action over Magdeburg, Germany on September 28, 1944 while on his 28th mission.
