William F. Riley served in the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant with the 3rd Reconnaissance Company, 3rd Infantry Division during the Korean War. He was killed in action on May 22, 1953, in North Korea. He was awarded the Purple Heart, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
