Richard D. Radford served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a Second Lieutenant with the 391st Fighter Bomber Squadron during the Korean War. A pilot, he was killed in a crash while flying his Sabre jet in a combat training maneuver at Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, on February 5, 1954.
