Tramell III, LT Herman Kerns

Herman K. Tramell III served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a First Lieutenant with the 98th Fighter Interceptor Squadron during the Korean War. He was killed on September 4, 1957, while on a flight training mission as squadron leader when his F-89 Scorpion jet fighter collided with another plane over Delaware Bay near Dover Air Force Base, Delaware. He had served with the Air Force for six years, and completed 18 combat mission in the Korean War. He was awarded the Korean Service Medal and Air Medal.
