Moomaw, LT Daniel Clovis

Clovis Moomaw served in the U.S. Army as a Second Lieutenant with Company D, 318th Infantry during World War I. He was killed on October 5, 1918 by an artillery shell while performing reconnaissance in Bois de Fays region of central France. In 1915 he was made a regular professor in the law school of Washington and Lee University, a position he held until he resigned it to go into the officers training camp. Originally missing in action, his body was found in the Argonne Forest.
