Roy C. Scouten served in the U.S. Army as a Staff Sergeant with the 59th Armored Infantry Battalion, 13th Armored Division during World War II. He was killed in action on May 1, 1945, at Malgersdorf, Germany. He was awarded the Bronze Star.
