Demming M. Ward served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a First Lieutenant with the 308th Bomb Group, Heavy, 14th Air Force during World War II. A pilot, he died on May 8, 1945, when his B-24 Liberator (#42-73436) disappeared and was presumed to have exploded. Pieces of the plane were later found on a river bank near Myanmar, Burma.
