James Moyer served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Second Lieutenant with the 478th Bomb Squad, 336th Bomb Group during World War II. He died on June 12, 1943 from pneumonia at Avon Park, Florida. After graduating from the Lubbock Army Flying School, he had received his wings and was assigned to Avon Park Bombing Range for transition and practical training.
