Willcoxen, PFC Donald Carl

Donald E. Willcoxen served in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class with the 262nd Infantry Regiment, 66th Infantry Division during World War II. He died on December 25, 1944, when his troop ship SS Leopoldville was sunk in the English Channel by a German submarine. The troop was headed to Cherbourg, France, for deployment to the front lines. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
