On August 6, 1994, artist Paul J. Penczner was honored as Pi Kappa Alpha's special dispensation initiate at the 1994 International Convention. Although he was just joining the Fraternity's membership, Penczner had played a vital part in telling the Fraternity's story since 1954. Penczner was commissioned to create portraits of several distinguished Fraternity leaders, most notably, the Pi Kappa Alpha's six Founders in 1954.
