Hubert L. Vickery served in the U.S. Navy as a Lieutenant Junior Grade with the Armed Guard during World War II. Assigned to the U.S.S. Thaddeus Parker at its commissioning in October, 1944, and then transferred to the Naval Hospital at New Orleans, Louisiana, on November 10, 1944. He died on February 23, 1945, from organic causes resulting directly from the war.
