Harry Mason served in the U.S. Army as a Captain with Company E, 35th Infantry Regiment, 25th Infantry Division during World War II. He was killed in action on February 6, 1945 on Luzon, Philippines. He earned the following awards: the Distinguished Service Cross, Purple Heart, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with Arrowhead Pin and 3 Bronze Stars, World War II Victory Medal, Philippine Presidential Unit Citation and Combat Infantryman Badge.
