Stephen A. Vosper served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Corporal with the Squad R, 2126th Army Air Force Base Unit, Laredo Army Air Field, Laredo, Texas, during World War II. He was killed on July 9, 1945, while dismounting the top gun on an experimental B-29 when a tug on the barrel of the gun unlocked a jammed bullet.
