Raymond Johnson served in the U.S. Army, as a Major in the 25th Infantry Division, 1st Battalion, 14th Infantry, A Company during the Vietnam War. A veteran of the Korean War with ten years of military service, he died on July 19, 1966 in a mid-air collision in la Drang Valley, Binh Duong province, South Vietnam.
