Mr. Elwood O. Wells served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Captain with the India-China Division, Air Transport Command, Sookerating, India, 1337th Army Air Forces Base Unit during World War II. He was killed in Burma on his 150th mission, when the C-46A-30-CU Commando passenger plane he was flying disappeared during a mission to deliver supplies over the Himalayan Mountain Range into China.
