William Gray served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a Second Lieutenant with the 30th Fighter Squadron, 37th Fighter Group during World War II. He went missing in action on April 16, 1943 in Latin America and was later confirmed deceased. Lt. Gray is memorialized on the Tablets of the Missing at East Coast Memorial in New York City.
