Mother Camper was the House Mother for Alpha Sigma Chapter at the University of California-Berkeley for over 40 years. She became involved with the Calimedico Club in 1909-1911. The chapter asked her to become housemother when the Calimedico Club was chartered as Alpha Sigma Chapter. It has been said that she didn't consider herself the house mother because she never lived in the chapter house. She was very active on the National Fraternity level, attending Conventions, managing mothers clubs, and at the chapter level she opened her home for frequent social events, maintained constant contact with the men of Alpha Sigma Chapter, and kept voluminous records related to her life with Pi Kappa Alpha.
