Robert M. Hughes Badge with Stick Pin Guard, 1871

This badge belonged to Robert M. Hughes, a founder of Gamma Chapter at the College of William and Mary. Hughes received the badge in February 1871 from Alpha Chapter when Gamma Chapter was installed. Before passing to Hughes, the badge likely belonged to an earlier member of Alpha Chapter, one of the earliest Pi Kappa Alpha members. This badge is the oldest known Pi Kappa Alpha badge in existence.
