John Boushall served in the U.S. Army as a First Lieutenant, Class IV, School of Fire at Fort Sill, Oklahoma during World War I, and then as a Lieutenant Colonel, in charge of defense housing for the Southeastern Air Corps Training Center during World War II. On March 21, 1942, he was fatally injured in a traffic accident.
