Henry Hawkins served in the Royal Canadian Air Force and U.S. Air Force as a Second Lieutenant at the Columbus Army Flying School, Columbus, Mississippi. He died in a training plane crash near Craig Field, Selma, Louisiana on September 20, 1942. He had transferred to the U.S. Air Force after receiving his training with the Royal Canadian Air Force.
