Capt. Fred Robert Curtis

Fred Curtis served in the U.S. Air Force as a Captain in the 736th Bomb Squadron in the Vietnam War. He was a Radar Navigator who flew with the No. 1 crew of a B-52F Stratofortress. On December 23, 1963, ten minutes after takeoff, his plane exploded near Aberdeen, Mississippi, killing all nine on board instantly. He received a Meritorious Award posthumously.
