Lane Foster, Jr. served in the U.S. Army Air Force as a Technical Sergeant in the 303rd Bomb Group, 360th Bomb Squadron during World War II. A B-17 Radio Operator, he was killed in action on April 6, 1945, when the B-17 he was in (#44-8647), while on a mission to Leipzig, collided with another USAF plane and exploded over Germany. He is buried in a common grave.
