Author Stephen Covey was born on October 24, 1932 in Salt Lake City Utah and attended the University of Utah where he was a member of Alpha Tau Chapter. In 1989, Covey published his most popular book "The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People," which has sold over 25 million copies worldwide. He is also the author of five other books. In 1996, Time magazine named Covey one of its 25 most influential people. A cycling enthusiast, Covey lost control of his bike during an outing in April 2012 and crashed, suffering cracked ribs and a partially collapsed lung. He died from complications resulting from the accident in Idaho Falls, Idaho on July 16, 2012 at age 79.
