Carroll "Sid" Adams served in the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant in Military Intelligence in the 318th Infantry, 80th Infantry Division (part of Patton's Third Army). He was killed in action by shrapnel in Argentan, France. He remained at his post, taking very heavy fire.
