Michael Curran, Jr. served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Captain in the Marine Fighter Squadron 311, Marine Aircraft Group 31, 4th MBDAW, FMF during World War II. He was killed in action on July 30, 1944 in the Marshall Islands. He was awarded the Purple Heart. His name is inscribed in the Honolulu Memorial Court of the Missing.
