James Christian, Jr. served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a First Lieutenant in World War II. On September 15, 1943, his B-25G Mitchell (#42-65040) crashed on takeoff, due to engine failure, from Edinburgh Field, British West Indies (Trinidad). Lieutenant Christian and five other Army airmen were killed.
