William Conway served in the U.S. Army as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Medical Corps in World War II. He died on August 8, 1943 at Carlisle Barracks, Pennsylvania. He left the University of Arizona in 1930 and was stationed at Walter Reed Hospital from 1934 to 1938. He served at Fort Snelling, Minnesota and Schofield Barracks, Hawaii before going to Carlisle Barracks.
