Robert Houlette served in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class in the 335th Infantry Regiment, 84th Infantry Division during World War II. He was killed in action in Lindern, Germany on November 29, 1944. He was awarded the Purple Heart. He is buried at the Netherlands American Cemetery and Memorial in Margraten, Limburg, Netherlands.
