Republican politician Pete Sessions was born on March 22, 1955 in Waco, Texas. In 1978, he graduated from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas where he was a member of Alpha Omicron Chapter. Before starting his career in politics, Sessions worked in marketing for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Dallas, Texas for 16 years. He first ran for the U.S. House of Representatives in a special election in 1991, but finished 6th. He ran again in 1993 for the 5th District seat in the House, but lost by 2,400 votes. In 1996, after the incumbent left to seek a seat in the Senate, Sessions ran again for the 5th District seat and this time he was successful. Sessions served the 5th District for 3 terms, from 1996-2002. He moved to the newly created 32nd District for the 2002 election, which he served from 2003-2018. Sessions was defeated for re-election in the 2018 election by Democratic challenger Colin Allred.
