General Louis Hugh Wilson Jr. was presented the Congressional Medal of Honor in 1944 for service in World War II. He continued a distinguished, life-time military career culminating with service as the 26th Commandant of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1975-1979. Following retirement, he sat on a number of corporate boards. He was made a trustee of Millsaps College in 1978 and a life trustee in 1990. He was recognized in 1945 with Pi Kappa Alpha's Alumnus Alpha-Theta Award for Distinguished Achievement. He served Pi Kappa Alpha as a trustee of the Educational Foundation in 1979-1980 and was inducted into the Foundation's Order of West Range in 1990.
