Elbert Hiller served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a First Lieutenant in the 381st Bomb Group, 533rd Bomb Squadron, 8th Air Force during World War II. The crew departed Ridgewell, England on a combat mission to Dorsten, Germany. He died on March 22, 1945 when his plane was shot down over Dorsten, Germany.
