Robert Berardi served as a Sergeant in the United States Army, 407th Infantry Regiment, 102nd Infantry Division in World War II. He was killed in action on February 24, 1945 near Linnich, Rur River, Germany, while clearing the path to the Rhine. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
