William Albright served in U.S. Army Air Forces as a Corporal Radio Operator in the 864th Bomber Squadron, 494th Bomber Group (Heavy). A Tail Gunner on a B-24 in the Pacific, Albright was killed in action just after take off when his plane crashed and burned (reason unknown) while on a bombing mission near Mangabong, Philippines on January 25, 1945. He was awarded the Purple Heart.
