Cornelious Dukelow served in the U.S. Army as a Private First Class-E3 in C Company, 4th Battalion, 39th Infantry, 9th Infantry Division in the Vietnam War. On January 22, 1969, three days after arriving at the Mekong Delta, Private Dukelow was killed by sniper fire in Dinh Tuong Province, South Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
