Truett Bullock served in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a Captain of the 93rd Bomber Group, 330th Squadron, 8th Air Force during World War II. On October 20, 1944, he was killed in action in Sweden. He was awarded the Air Medal, 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, and the Distinguished Flying Cross.
